I was watching Meet the Press this Sunday and they were referring to Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s incoming Chief of Staff. They quoted him as saying something highly interesting to me. ”We shouldn’t waste a crisis.” I’m pretty skeptical more….

Author of “The Shack”
December 31, 2008 · 1 Comment
I was listening to NPR yesterday and the author of The Shack, William P. Young, was on “Here and Now”. For those who haven’t read it, it’s a bit surprising and definitely outside the box, but for me it brought a fresh perspective on how much God loves me. I thought it was a great interview, but I’m biased since I really enjoyed the book. Check it out here.

Finally Over
December 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Wow! As cool as it was and as much as I love it, there’s definitely too much of a good thing! Jo and I have travelled every weekend since she moved here and then last week we had somewhere to be every night and three straight days of travelling from Christmas Day on. I don’t know how people with kids do that. By the time we got home Saturday night we were completely exhausted. We didn’t even make dinner. Just ate cereal and went to bed at 8. That’s pretty unusual for me! We finally got moving yesterday and just sat around in our PJs watching TV and drinking coffee from my new French Press that she gave me. We went to lunch and a movie with my sister’s family and then got to bed early again last night. Like Gretchen said in her blog….”sometimes you need to get back to work just to get some rest.” It’s only once a year though and it’s best to just make the most of it. As much as we complain about it, we’d look back with regret if we pulled away and missed out on it all. So, here’s to what was a great holiday, to good health and to a great 2009!

Bro-in-laws

Jo and I have really been on the go the last few days. Much of that time has been spent with Dave, my sister’s husband. Of course, we spend a lot of time together as it is, but we got more than usual over these busy family-filled days. Last night at Jo’s family deal I got more of the same, but with Joe, more….

Family at Christmas
December 24, 2008 · 4 Comments
The festivities begin tonight and I’m actually looking forward to it. My family has always done a gathering on Christmas Eve night for my dad’s side and my mom’s side on Christmas morning with a big breakfast. This year will be a little different. We’re doing dinner tonight with my mom’s family and freeing up Christmas morning. more….

South Park
December 20, 2008 · 1 Comment
I’m sitting at South Park mall in the Food Court eating a little Chic-fil-a and watching people. First off, I hate malls. It’s generally the place to me where little thugs go to gawk over nasty little girls who want to be gawked over evidenced by the way they dress. This mall isn’t like that. This one has been around as long as I can remember and unlike others more….

Feelin’ the Crunch

Christmas is only a week away and that can only mean one thing! It’s time for me to start shopping! This is generally about when I get going. I know that a lot of you are thinking “typical guy”, but my logic is that stores have sold a lot of their stock more….

Catch 22
December 13, 2008 · 1 Comment
I’m actually sitting at a wedding rehearsal right now doing this from my phone. Not sure how well it will turn out, but here we go. I’ve found myself in a strange place. There’s a guy (no names) that has completely ignored me since I’ve been here this weekend. I’ve always been cordial if not friendly with this guy more….

Weddings in Creedmoor….
December 11, 2008 · 2 Comments
Now, I know that I got married in Creedmoor myself, but I hate’em. Not the weddings themselves. Just the fact that I end up spending a lot of time alone. Jo’s usually in them and going to lunches, shopping, pedicures, hair appointments and whatever else. I’m not. That’s me this weekend. And not only am I going for the weekend, but an extra long one at that. I would rather be at home or basically anywhere else. I guess that’s part of being a husband.
Feel my pain!
